Inclement Weather & Reschedules
Our Commitment
Your safety is our top priority. We closely monitor weather conditions and will never operate tours in unsafe conditions. We aim to be as flexible as possible with rescheduling.
1. Weather Monitoring
We continuously monitor weather conditions using multiple professional meteorological services, including NOAA, Weather Underground, and local marine forecasts. Our team evaluates conditions including wind speed, wave height, lightning activity, visibility, and precipitation to determine tour safety.
2. Cancellation Criteria
Tours may be cancelled or postponed due to any of the following conditions:
- Sustained winds exceeding 25 mph or gusts over 35 mph
- Wave heights exceeding 3 feet in the operating area
- Active lightning within 10 miles of the tour route
- Heavy rain reducing visibility below safe levels
- Small craft advisories issued by the Coast Guard
- Water temperature below 60°F without proper gear
3. Cancellation by Us
If we cancel a tour due to inclement weather or unsafe conditions, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost. We will notify you of cancellations at least 2 hours before your scheduled tour time via phone and email. In cases of rapidly developing weather, we may need to cancel with shorter notice — your safety is always our priority.
4. Rescheduling Policy
We understand plans change. Our rescheduling policy is as follows:
More than 48 hours notice
Free rescheduling or full refund
24-48 hours notice
Free rescheduling; 50% refund if cancelling
Less than 24 hours notice
Rescheduling subject to availability; no refund for cancellations
5. No-Show Policy
If you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled tour time without prior notice, your booking will be considered a no-show. No-shows are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are running late — we will do our best to accommodate you.
6. Partial Tour Completion
If weather conditions deteriorate during a tour and we must return early, you will receive a prorated refund based on the portion of the tour completed. For example, if a 2-hour tour is cut short to 1 hour due to weather, you will receive a 50% refund. This policy applies only to weather-related early returns initiated by our guides for safety reasons.
7. Seasonal Considerations
Florida's weather can change rapidly, especially during summer months (June-September) when afternoon thunderstorms are common. We recommend booking morning tours during this period for the best conditions. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 — in the event of a named storm affecting our area, all tours will be cancelled and fully refunded.
